Temple Gallery in Birmingham is honored to present "Cycles of Life," an extraordinary exhibition by the acclaimed artist Emily Delgado. This exhibition is a profound exploration of the symbiotic relationship between artistic creation and the natural world, showcasing Delgado's innovative journey from initial inspiration to the utilization of advanced technologies and 3D printing.

"Cycles of Life" is a testament to the plurality and openness that define Emily Delgado's artistic ethos. The exhibition features an array of sensuously abstract sculptures that oscillate between the elegance of curved natural forms and the precision of mathematical calculations. These pieces embody a balance that calls for heightened awareness of creation, reflecting Delgado's deep-rooted belief in the unity and interaction of all elements.

Delgado's artistic practice is an intricate dialogue between the artist, nature, and the viewer. Each sculpture on display is a part of this conversation, offering an intimate and contemplative encounter with the potential energy and interchangeability of forms. The unfixed physicality of the sculptures, coupled with their repetition in various materials, invites viewers to engage with the artwork on a profoundly personal level.

The exhibition is a celebration of Delgado's interdisciplinary approach, moving seamlessly from plaster sketches, born out of spontaneous inspiration, to the precise realm of modern technologies and 3D printing. This journey is not just a technical process but a philosophical exploration, questioning and redefining the boundaries between the natural and the artificial.

Visitors to "Cycles of Life" will experience the transformative power of Delgado's sculptures, which are not merely objects of beauty but catalysts for reflection and understanding. The exhibition is an invitation to ponder the continuous cycle of life, the ever-evolving relationship between humanity and nature, and the role of art as a bridge between the two.

Temple Gallery is proud to host this captivating exhibition and invites art enthusiasts, critics, and the general public to immerse themselves in the world of Emily Delgado. "Cycles of Life" promises to be an unforgettable experience that challenges perceptions and inspires a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of all forms of life.

Join us at Temple Gallery, Birmingham, for this remarkable journey through the "Cycles of Life." The exhibition is a unique opportunity to witness the convergence of art, science, and philosophy through the visionary lens of Emily Delgado.

The exhibition Cycles of Life by Emily Delgado can be seen until 20 November, 2022 at Temple Gallery (5 Great Western Arcade, Birmingham).

Temple Gallery brings a fresh perspective – through championing artists from all corners of the globe. Focusing on artists at the height of their practice, the gallery showcases their work through a diverse programme of exhibitions and events.

Along with other projects of the Curtis Foundation, Temple Gallery specialises in promoting art from Europe and its neighbours to introduce a greater understanding of the rich linguistic, religious and historical ties that connect these areas to international audiences. The gallery is further expanding to support artists working in digital art through its online platform.

The gallery provides a varied programme across practices such as sculpture, photography, painting, video, performance and virtual reality, as well as its programme of Tuesday Talks, which address themes and ideas surrounding the gallery’s exhibitions. Artist catalogues and books are also on offer.

In 2023, Temple Gallery gallery launched the Window Project, which utilises the gallery’s façade – home page – as an additional platform for displaying art. On our online platform we present a camera flyby inside the gallery space. This is a separate exhibition that is constantly presented in video format at the home page of the gallery website. The initiative has been repurposed to support graduates from various art schools through open-call competitions, which take place a few times a year. Art Schools are among the renowned institutions that Temple Gallery has partnered with for this.
